Cliona Hagan has shared her delight since getting engaged in 2020. Speaking on Ireland AM the Irish country singer shared; “It was a lovely way to end such a horrible year and we are thrilled, we are over the moon.”
Cliona’s fiancé popped the question six weeks ago giving 2020 a positive ending she did’t really expect.
“I’m going to sound soppy here, I’m really delighted to have met my other half.”
Her fiancé, Simon is also a singer so the couple are well suited.
Cliona revealed that; “Simon is from a very well-renowned musical family, they’re called the Sheerin family and he really is my best friend.”
Speaking to The Sunday World at the time of her engagement she shared that it happened in a spot the pair loved to go walking; “We went down to our favourite lake, Lough Ree in Co Westmeath, where we always have a nice walk.”
Simon had everything set up; “Then I saw this beautiful arch and flowers, and a red carpet and candles. He had my favourite song playing, Shania Twain’s You’re Still The One, and he just got down on one knee and proposed.”
The 31-year-old continued’ “The two of us were crying and it was such a beautiful moment I could hardly even speak.”
